School Lunch Procedure:

Send WOWBUTTER to School using the
SCHOOL LUNCH LETTER and/or SCHOOL LUNCH LABELS

Socially responsible schools are implementing peanut free and/or nut free bans to reduce the risk of anaphylaxis due to peanuts and nuts. You are supporting and accomplishing this goal by sending WOWBUTTER to school while providing a lunch that your child loves with the nutrition they need. Your school cannot stop you from sending WOWBUTTER to school as a peanut butter replacement that supports peanut free policies.

If your school has implemented a peanut free and/or nut free policy, we have created a simple and convenient procedure to follow when sending WOWBUTTER to school to comply with these policies.  The procedure is as follows:

 SCHOOL LUNCH LETTER

  1. At the beginning of the school year or before you begin sending WOWBUTTER to school, download the convenient pre-written SCHOOL LUNCH LETTER, sign it as a parent or guardian and send the letter to school with your child.  This letter will inform School officials including principals and teachers about your intention to send Safe-for-School WOWBUTTER in your child’s lunch for the school year.  It indicates to the school official that as an educated and concerned parent, lunches made and sent from your home will be made exclusively with WOWBUTTER as a peanut butter replacement and will NOT contain any peanuts and/or nuts.  This will ensure the health and safety of school students while following and promoting the School peanut free and/or nut free policy.
  2. The school official will then sign the letter indicating their acknowledgement of your need as a parent or guardian to send WOWBUTTER and will indicate whether or not you are required to label all foods containing WOWBUTTER sent to school.
  3. If you are not required to label your home prepared foods containing WOWBUTTER, then there are no further actions required.

It is always best to label and identify school lunches!

Should your school require ongoing labeling of your home prepared products containing WOWBUTTER, please follow these additional procedures:

SCHOOL LUNCH LABELS

  1. Download the SCHOOL LUNCH LABEL template (PDF document format) we have created and save it to your computer.  You will be asked to accept the Terms of Use for the Label before you will be able to download and save the file.  The downloaded file will also contain a copy of the Terms of Use for your reference.  The SCHOOL LUNCH Labels will be at the end of the downloaded document.

    Mislabelling of food or lunches using the SCHOOL LUNCH Label/Logo is a breach of the "terms of use" agreement and will not be tolerated. Anyone found using these labels/logos other than for their intended purpose will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

  2. Print a sheet of labels (the last page of the downloaded document) which was formatted to be printed on an Avery Round Label # 08293 which can be purchased at your local home & office supply store. There are 20 labels per sheet and the label size is 1.5" in diameter. As an option, you can print the labels on a plain white piece of paper and tape the label to your sandwich bag or container.
  3. Every time you make something at home using exclusively WOWBUTTER (such as a WOWBUTTER and jam sandwich or WOWBUTTER cookies) to send to school, apply a SCHOOL LUNCH Label to the sandwich bag or container.  Alternatively, simply tape the label to your sandwich bag or container if you do not wish to use the Avery labels.  Make sure you follow the Terms of Use agreement when you use the SCHOOL LUNCH Labels. 

Identifying Option: Label lunches using jar label cutout!

Note: As an alternative to printing the labels from your computer, the labels on the WOWBUTTER jar can be peeled off the jar. The labels will remain sticky and the SCHOOL LUNCH Label on the jar can be cut out and applied to a re-usable sandwich container for a more permanent solution. The jar label is made from a material that will better withstand washing and should last until a new jar is purchased.

You are fully responsible for the proper application of our label/logo to any container or lunch and must follow the same guidelines and restrictions set forth in the SCHOOL LUNCH Label TERMS OF USE document.

School Option: Send the jar to school and assemble lunches at school!

Note: As an alternative to making sandwiches at home, you can send a jar of WOWBUTTER to school and keep it at the school along with a jar of jam to make the sandwiches at school. A new jar of WOWBUTTER is sent from home when needed and necessary components such as the bread are sent in the lunch daily with final assembly at school by the student or in some cases the teacher. With a jar kept at school for each student, it can then also be used to spread on crackers, celery, apples or any other food item brought from home. The SCHOOL LUNCH Label has many other important benefits for parents, kids and school officials. These labels act as a constant reminder to all kids that all lunches going to school need to be peanut and nut free. It will also provide a more visible method of informing school officials of the support for school peanut free and/or nut free policies.

LETTER FOR SCHOOL PRINCIPALS | SCHOOL LUNCH LETTER | SCHOOL LUNCH LABELS

We appreciate all the support we are receiving in helping "Spread the Word" about WOWBUTTER to your family and friends and at your school.

We have reminder posters available that can be printed and displayed in the classroom to remind students that their lunches containing WOWBUTTER must be labeled. It also better informs the lunch monitors. You can help better inform all the students in your child's classroom by printing and sending a poster to the school for their classroom.
